A degree is not a game. It has boundaries and constructs like every other system. \outside the boundaries is not freedom, freedom might be a thwarted ideal of whats outside the boundaries.
I think that breaking and unacceptance of boundaries might show someone struggling to remain within them??
I think that straight-line-limits can peak at a curve if you want them to be. Its impossible to break them, if i broke degree limits, I wouldnt be doing a degree. I'd have work/benefits/death boundaries! eh. I didnt get what you were meaning earlier. Im sorry.
